Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about what it really means to age well.
When I was younger, I didn’t spend much time thinking about getting older. It seemed like something that was far off in the future. Now that I’m in my 60s, it’s something I think about more often.
One of my goals is to live longer than my mother, who lived to be 92. I know there are no guarantees in life, but that goal has made me pay more attention to my health and the choices I make every day.
The truth is, I’m still learning.
The more I read about healthy aging, the more I realize there is so much information out there. Sometimes it feels like everyone has a different opinion. One person says to eat this, another says not to. One person recommends a certain exercise, while someone else recommends something completely different.
It can be confusing.
That’s one of the reasons I started this blog.
I wanted a place where I could share what I’m learning and keep track of my own journey. I’m not a doctor, nutritionist, or fitness expert. I’m simply a woman who wants to stay healthy, active, and independent for as long as possible.
To me, healthy aging isn’t about trying to look younger. It’s about feeling my best and doing what I can to enjoy the years ahead.
It’s about moving my body, making better food choices, getting enough rest, managing stress, and continuing to learn. It’s about taking small steps and making progress, even when things aren’t perfect.
And trust me, I’m far from perfect.
There are days when I’m motivated and days when I’m not. There are days when I make good choices and days when I don’t. I think that’s just part of being human.
What matters to me is continuing to move forward.
Through this blog, I’ll be sharing what I’m learning, what’s working for me, what I’m struggling with, and the questions I’m exploring along the way.
If you’re also trying to live a healthier life as you get older, I hope you’ll join me. We may not have all the answers, but we can learn together and support each other along the way.
Here’s to growing older and living better
